Adding to the drama, during Kalinskaya's match against Alexandrova, she complained to the umpire about disruptive fans, who were described as 'maybe drunk.' The umpire concurred, adding to the unusual circumstances surrounding her performance in Cincinnati.

Meanwhile, Iga Swiatek has also advanced to the quarterfinals, setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting match. Tennis coach Brad Gilbert noted that Swiatek's matches in Cincinnati have consistently been scheduled for 11 am, raising questions about whether this is coincidental or by request.

She believes the scheduling of her quarterfinal match is unfair, given the late finish of her previous match.

The winner will face either Aryna Sabalenka or Elena Rybakina.

Kalinskaya mentioned on her Instagram that the WTA doesn't care about players well being and adjusting to sleep patterns for recovery.
