Epic Universe Express Pass Changes and Crowd Updates

Epic Universe has made significant changes to its Express Pass lineup by including Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry and Mine-Cart Madness. This allows guests to skip the regular line at these popular attractions, enhancing their park experience. However, Dragon Racer’s Rally remains the only ride not included in the Express Pass, potentially creating longer wait times for that particular attraction.

The cost of an Epic Universe Express Pass ranges from $179.99 to $359.99 per day, making it a substantial investment for visitors. A three-day Universal Orlando Express Pass for all three parks costs between $269.99 and $864.99. Potential visitors should weigh the cost against the time saved and overall park experience.

Crowd levels at Epic Universe have been a topic of interest. Initially, Universal Orlando limited attendance to 12,000 to 15,000 guests, later expanding to 22,000. The theoretical capacity is around 35,000 to 40,000 guests. Although Universal has increased the ticket cap to 45,000, organic demand has been the limiting factor. Recently, some dates have sold out of single-day tickets, particularly around holidays, suggesting increased attendance during peak seasons.

Data indicates that weekends, particularly Sundays, tend to have the lowest average wait times. This is attributed to higher ticket prices on weekends, causing budget-conscious tourists to opt for less expensive dates. Conversely, weekdays, especially Wednesdays and Thursdays, have seen the highest wait times.

Universal Orlando Team Members can now use up to two complimentary passes for entry to Epic Universe each month. While this will likely increase attendance to some degree, the impact is expected to be less significant than the introduction of Annual Passes.

Universal Orlando is reportedly testing park hopping, allowing guests with vacation packages to hop to Epic Universe after 4 PM. Additionally, guests booking 2026 vacation packages will have the option to choose park-to-park tickets that include Epic Universe.

The Express Pass includes Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry and Mine-Cart Madness. Dragon Racer’s Rally is the only ride not included.
