Alaska Airlines Debuts International Business Class Suites, Showcasing Hawaiian Airlines' Vision

Alaska Airlines' new International Business Class suites, launching this spring, mark a significant step in the airline's transformation into a global carrier. The suites, which feature lie-flat beds, direct aisle access, and enhanced entertainment options, are designed for long-haul travelers seeking comfort and luxury. The dining experience has been elevated with multi-course meals featuring West Coast flavors, and passengers also have access to premium lounges across Alaska's network and partner lounges worldwide.

Interestingly, the core design of these suites is based on Hawaiian Airlines' Dreamliner cabin introduced in 2024. While Hawaiian Airlines focused on a Polynesian-inspired cabin identity, Alaska is integrating the suites into its broader Pacific Northwest premium story. This includes upgraded bedding from Filson, amenity kits, and a more elaborate dining program. Alaska will launch the new product on flights from Seattle to Rome (April 28) and London (May 21). Flights to Seoul and Tokyo are already operating with the Dreamliner, and Reykjavik will follow on May 28 with a separate premium experience on a 737 MAX.

Despite the upgraded experience, the new planes will initially launch without Wi-Fi, with Starlink expected to be installed later. Hawaiian Airlines had previously moved faster on Starlink implementation on its A330s and A321neos.

The new suites will be available on flights from Seattle to Rome, London, Seoul, and Tokyo.

Amenities include lie-flat beds, direct aisle access, 18” HD entertainment screens, elevated dining, and premium lounge access.

Initially, Wi-Fi will not be available, but Starlink is expected to be installed later.
