Cathay Pacific's introduction of the Aria Suite on the San Francisco route marks a significant upgrade to its premium cabin offerings. The retrofitting process, which takes approximately seven weeks per aircraft, is part of a strategic plan to refresh its long-haul network. As of the IATA winter season, the Aria Suite is available on key routes including Frankfurt, London, Melbourne, Sydney, and Vancouver.

However, recent reports indicate that Cathay Pacific is also making it more difficult for some frequent flyers to access benefits such as seat selection. Specifically, travelers booking through partner airlines or using frequent flyer numbers from competing programs may find themselves unable to select seats or facing unexpected fees. This could be due to Cathay Pacific's efforts to manage costs or prioritize its own loyalty program members.

To ensure a smooth booking experience, travelers are advised to verify aircraft configurations via Google Flights or Cathay Pacific's official website. Booking award tickets through Cathay Pacific’s loyalty program may also provide better access to premium cabin inventory.
