Dayton Air Show: Thousands Brave Heat for Thrills

The Dayton Air Show, now in its 51st year, drew crowds despite the ongoing heat wave. The event featured a diverse lineup of aerial acts, including the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, making their first appearance since 2023. Other highlights included the U.S. Army Golden Knights, the B-29 Superfortress "Doc," and demonstrations by the USAF C-17 Globemaster III.

Attendees like Jennifer Hammond and Jeanne Miller, first-time visitors, praised the cooling stations and the high-energy atmosphere. Returning visitors, DJ and Abbey Bruce, enjoyed the family-friendly environment and the opportunity to see veterans sharing their experiences. Former Navy pilot Fred Dunlea and his daughter Emily Katz, who is active duty Air Force, also attended, highlighting the show's appeal across generations.

Organizers urged visitors to stay hydrated and seek shade. A full medical staff was on-site to handle heat-related emergencies.
