'Big Bang Theory' Spinoff 'Stuart Fails to Save the Universe' Greenlit

The new series, 'Stuart Fails to Save the Universe,' will follow Stuart Bloom after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, leading to a multiverse Armageddon. Stuart is aided by his girlfriend Denise, geologist friend Bert, and quantum physicist Barry Kripke. Along the way, they encounter alternate-universe versions of familiar characters from 'The Big Bang Theory.'

Chuck Lorre, the co-creator, aimed to create something radical that takes him out of his comfort zone, blending science fiction and comedy. The show is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

This marks the fourth series in the 'Big Bang' universe, following the original show, 'Young Sheldon,' and 'Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.'

The series stars Kevin Sussman, Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn, and John Ross Bowie, all reprising their roles from 'The Big Bang Theory.'

Stuart Bloom accidentally triggers a multiverse Armageddon and must restore reality with the help of his friends.

The series will be available on HBO Max.
