Neil Gaiman Addresses Sexual Misconduct Allegations and "Smear Campaign"

In early 2025, Gaiman responded to allegations from a former babysitter, providing WhatsApp messages to refute her claims. He and his estranged wife, Amanda Palmer, were sued in federal court in February 2025 for alleged sexual assault and trafficking by Scarlett Pavlovich, who had previously discussed the allegations in Tortoise Media and New York magazine. Gaiman denies the allegations, stating they engaged in consensual sexual activity but not intercourse.

Gaiman also addresses other women who made allegations in the Tortoise Media podcast and New York magazine story, saying he never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity but regretted being "emotionally unavailable" and "careless with people’s hearts and feelings." He thanks a journalist writing under the name TechnoPathology for their evidence-based investigative writing.

While addressing the allegations, Gaiman revealed he is working on a new book, calling it his biggest project since "American Gods." He also emphasizes the importance of being a full-time dad to his children.
