Telangana has been experiencing a mix of severe heat and sudden rainfall. The IMD has issued orange alerts for districts like Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, and Hanamkonda, signaling the potential for intense thunderstorms and lightning.

Meanwhile, a yellow alert is in effect for areas including Hyderabad, Rangareddy, and Medchal-Malkajgiri, indicating moderate weather disturbances.

The unexpected rainfall has led to a noticeable drop in temperatures, providing relief from the heatwave that saw temperatures soaring above 45°C in April. Hyderabad saw significant rainfall, with some areas recording over 50mm in a short period. This abrupt change caused disruptions but was largely welcomed.

The IMD forecasts continued partly cloudy skies with chances of rain, with temperatures expected to remain around 40°C. Gusty winds are also expected, particularly in the late afternoons and evenings.
