San Diego Weather: Cooler Temperatures and Rain Chances Ahead This Week

Following a relatively calm Sunday with coastal highs in the low-to-mid 60s and inland areas reaching the mid-to-upper 60s, San Diego County is bracing for a shift in weather patterns.

A series of weather systems moving through the Pacific Northwest are pushing moisture southward, leading to increased cloud cover and precipitation chances starting Monday. While Sunday saw some lingering wind advisories in the mountains and deserts, stronger winds are anticipated through early Wednesday, particularly in those areas. Coastal regions won't escape the breeze either.

The most significant change will be the drop in temperature, making it feel much cooler than recent days, especially from Tuesday to Thursday. Rain chances, though present from Monday morning, are expected to be most prominent from Monday afternoon into the evening and potentially recurring through Friday. Current models suggest rainfall will remain light for most populated areas.

Forecasted Highs Monday:

Light showers are possible early Monday morning, but more widespread chances increase Monday afternoon and evening.
