Omaha is experiencing a volatile weather pattern. A warm start has transitioned into a hot and humid afternoon, with heat index values expected to reach dangerous levels. The primary concern is the potential for severe thunderstorms moving in from the west. These storms could bring strong wind gusts, heavy downpours, and frequent lightning. The best chances for stronger storms are northwest of the Omaha metro in the late afternoon and evening.

It is going to be cooler Thursday with low temperatures in the upper 50s to low 70s and high temperatures in the low to mid 80s.
