Kairi Sane's unexpected return to WWE Raw marks her first in-ring action since December 2024. Sane had been sidelined due to a thumb injury, which she confirmed on social media, following a tag team match where she and IYO SKY lost to Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.

On the May 19th episode of Raw, General Manager Adam Pearce announced that Sane would face Rhea Ripley and Zoey Stark in a Triple Threat match, with the winner advancing to the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match on June 7. The announcement was made shortly after WWE teased Sane's arrival on social media.

Pearce also announced a second qualifying match featuring Becky Lynch, Roxanne Perez, and Natalya, increasing the stakes and competition within the women's division.

Kairi Sane's last match was on the December 2, 2024, episode of RAW.
