Taylor Makar, a 6-foot-4, 210-pound forward, concluded a productive collegiate career before signing with Colorado. After transferring from UMass-Amherst (where he played three seasons from 2021-24, tallying 22 points in 85 games), he had a breakout year with the University of Maine Black Bears in 2024-25. His 18 goals tied for the team lead, and his 30 points were second-best, both personal collegiate highs. Notably, he scored two goals in the Hockey East Championship game to help Maine secure an NCAA Tournament berth. His collegiate career totals stand at 52 points (33 goals, 19 assists) in 123 games. Before college, Makar played for the Brooks Bandits in the AJHL (2017-21), registering 61 points in 104 games. His immediate assignment to the Colorado Eagles (AHL) provides a chance to acclimate to the professional game.
