League of Legends Updates: New Champion Zaahen & Anti-Boosting Measures

Riot Games is actively working to improve the League of Legends gaming experience by addressing issues such as unfair player behavior and account manipulation. The introduction of Zaahen expands the champion roster, offering new gameplay dynamics and lore. Simultaneously, measures against boosting and account sharing aim to create a more competitive and enjoyable environment for all players.

The anti-boosting measures include detection of boosting and hitchhiking, with penalties applied to offending accounts. Riot has also added a "Rank Manipulation" report category to gather data and improve detection accuracy. Vanguard is also helping to detect shared, sold, or botted accounts.

True Skill 2 (TS2) is being tested to more accurately place players in appropriate skill-level games, reducing the impact of smurfing. Initial testing shows high-skill players being placed correctly in approximately 5 games, a significant improvement over the current system.

Zaahen is rumored to be released during Season 3 of 2025.

Riot Games is penalizing accounts involved in boosting and hitchhiking, using improved detection systems and player reports.

TS2 is an improved MMR detection system being tested to place players in games that accurately reflect their skill level.
