Playing rules for the Summer League mirror those of the NBA preseason and regular season, with a few exceptions. Games consist of four 10-minute periods, and teams are allowed two timeouts per half. A coach’s challenge system is in place for instant replay reviews of personal fouls, out-of-bounds violations, and goaltending calls. Overtime periods last two minutes, with a sudden-death second overtime if needed.

Sacramento Kings' rookie Maxime Raynaud revealed his eagerness to join the team to collaborate with Domantas Sabonis.
