Rockingham County School Bus Involved in Louisa County Crash

The bus, carrying 40 passengers on a field trip to the Virginia State Fair, veered off the road, while the Subaru spun and hit a guardrail. The driver of the Subaru sustained serious injuries and was transported to UVA Hospital. The bus driver, a chaperone, and at least two students were also hospitalized with possible injuries. Local fire and EMS evaluated the remaining students at Jouett Elementary. The VSP cited the Subaru driver for failure to obey lane markings. RCPS personnel and principals were present at the scene, providing support and working with first responders.
