Aldi Pork Carnitas Recall: Metal Contamination Alert

The FSIS announced a public health alert for Aldi's Pork Carnitas after the manufacturer, Cargill Meat Solutions, identified equipment damage that could have resulted in metal fragments contaminating the product. The affected 16-ounce packages are labeled "Pork Carnitas SEASONED & SEARED PORK WITH JUICES SLOW COOKED WITH CITRUS, READY TO SHRED" and have use-by dates of June 30, 2025, or July 1, 2025. The establishment number 'Est. 46049' is present inside the USDA mark of inspection.

Although the product is no longer available for sale in Aldi stores, the FSIS is concerned that consumers may still have it in their refrigerators or freezers. Consumers who have purchased the product are urged not to consume it and should either throw it away or return it to the place of purchase. No injuries have been reported in connection with this product. This alert follows a similar incident in January when Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos, also sold at Aldi, were recalled due to metal contamination.

Do not consume the product. Throw it away immediately or return it to the Aldi store where you purchased it.

Cargill Meat Solutions discovered the potential contamination during a routine process check when they found equipment damage.
